Delhi Weather Alert: Temperatures Back To Normal? Weather Forecast From Today Till 11th June

According to the India Meteorological Department's Regional Centre in Delhi, while temperatures are high in many parts of Delhi, IMD's bulletin board no longer shows heatwave warnings in the region.

There are still yellow alerts for today and tomorrow, as the region is forecast to experience occasional thunderstorms and dust storms from today till tomorrow. The rest of the week there are primarily green alerts.

Delhi Weather Alert Storms Again

Delhi Temperatures And Weather Over The Next Week:

Today, 5 June, northern parts of Delhi like Jafarpur, Najafgarh, Narela, Pitampura, Pusa will experience temperatures reaching all the way up to 45°C. Other parts of the union territory, will also experience high temperatures, reaching between 43°C to 44°C.

Minimum temperatures for the week seem to be around the same as forecast yesterday and day before, with them hovering between 28°C to 32°C. Some exceptions include Ridge which may go all the way down to 27°C, while Pitampura may not go lower than 35°C.

As for other weather forecasts, today and tomorrow, 5 June and 6 June respectively, thunderstorms and dust storms have been forecast alongside a yellow alert. The next three days, till 7 June, light rain has also been forecast.

Throughout the week, the skies are expected to remain partly cloudy, so shade from the heat won't be too hard to find. The days are also expected to be gusty, with winds reaching anywhere between 25 km/h to 40 km/h

IMD's Advice For Today And Tomorrow's Storms:

While the heat may not be too bad, the storms can certainly be dangerous for people who are outside, unprotected. Here's the advice given by IMD in-case the storms do eventually hit:

  1. Check for traffic congestion on your route before leaving for your destination.
  2. Follow any traffic advisories that are issued in this regard.
  3. Stay away from power lines or electrical wires.
  4. Stay indoors, close windows & doors and avoid travel if possible.
  5. Take safe shelters; do not take shelter under trees.
  6. Do not lie on concrete floors and do not lean against concrete walls.
