Delhi Weather Alert: Rainfall In These Areas? Weather Forecast From Today Till 13th June

According to the India Meteorological Department's Regional Centre in Delhi, heatwaves are done for the week, and rain is hitting some parts of the region.

Still, temperatures are going to remain high for a while, with chances of dust storms and thunderstorms hitting the region. Readers are advised to remain cautious when going outside.

Delhi Weather For The Next Week:

Today, 7 June, there are expectations of light rain hitting almost all parts of the region, including places like Narela, Ridge, Jafarpur, Pitampura, Safdarjung, and more.

There are also expectations of dust storms and thunderstorms in the region for both today, 7 June, and tomorrow, 8 June. These will be accompanied by strong winds during the day that may reach speeds between 30 km/h to 40 km/h

From 9 June onwards, the weather is expected to be mostly windy, with either clear or partly cloudy skies.

Delhi Temperatures Over The Next Week:

For today and tomorrow, 7 June and 8 June respectively, temperatures seem to be cooling down, with maximum temperatures floating between 42°C to 44°C for the whole region. One exception to this is Jafarpur, which may reach all the way up to 45°C, so readers may want to be careful when going out during the day there.

Minimum temperatures are seeing the biggest changes when compared to the past couple days. Almost all parts of Delhi are forecast for the next two days to experience temperatures that would reach as low as 27°C to 28°C. Ridge specifically may also reach as low as 25°C.

For the rest of the week, from 9 June till 13 June, temperatures will return back to the highs and lows that they used to have, average around 45°C for the highest in the region, and around 30°C for the lowest.

IMD's Warning For Today And Tomorrow:

IMD has put out a yellow alert with regards to the storms for today and tomorrow, and has given the following advice:

  1. Check for traffic congestion on your route before leaving for your destination.
  2. Follow any traffic advisories that are issued in this regard.
  3. Stay away from power lines or electrical wires.
  4. Stay indoors, close windows & doors and avoid travel if possible.
  5. Take safe shelters; do not take shelter under trees.
  6. Do not lie on concrete floors and do not lean against concrete walls.
  7. Unplug electrical or electronic appliances.
