Delhi Water Crisis: DJB Announces 12-Hour Water Supply Cut In Several Areas On February 20
Delhi water cut: Residents in several parts of the national capital will experience 12-hour water supply disruption (from the evening of February 20 to the morning of February 21) due to essential maintenance work, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) announced on Friday.

Affected Areas
According to the DJB statement, multiple regions will be impacted by the Delhi water cut, including:
- North Delhi regions: Bakhtawarpur, Jhangola, Tigipur, Kushak No. 111, Mahammadpur, Ramjanpur, Singhu, Palla, Tajpur, Akbarpur Mazra, Alipur, Jindpur, Bakoli, Khampur, Budhpur, Hamidpur, Holambi Kalan, Khera Kalan, and Khera Khurd.
- Narela and surrounding areas: Naya Bans, Mamurpur, Pana Udhyan/Paposian Narela, various colonies of Narela (regularized, JJ Cluster, DDA area, and Industrial area), Metro Vihar Phase I and II, Holambi Kalan villages.
- Other affected locations: Nangli Poona, Kadipur, Mukhemelpur, Ibrahimpur, Sant Nagar, Burari, Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, Samaipur, Badli, Libaspur, and Sirsapur.
Reason for Disruption
The DJB explained that the disruption is due to interconnection work of newly laid 900 mm and 1500 mm diameter inlet water mains at Palla. As a result, water supply in these areas will either be unavailable or available at low pressure during the maintenance period.
The DJB has urged residents in affected areas to use water judiciously and make necessary arrangements in advance. For those in need of emergency water supply, water tankers will be available on request via the DJB helpline or central control room.
For further updates, residents are advised to stay informed through official DJB notifications.
