Delhi: UPSC Aspirant Commits Suicide In Old Rajinder Nagar, Probe Underway
A 25-year-old UPSC aspirant named Tarun Thakur was found dead in his rented room in Old Rajinder Nagar, central Delhi. Originally from Jammu, he had been preparing for the civil services examination. The police reported that Tarun's body was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan.
The tragic event came to light when Tarun's father, unable to reach him by phone, asked the landlord to check on him. The landlord found the room locked and accessed an adjacent room with a shared balcony. From there, he saw Tarun hanging inside and immediately informed the police.

Details of the Incident
Police received a call about the suicide at around 6:32 pm on Saturday. Officers arrived promptly and confirmed that Tarun had used a bedsheet to hang himself. A suicide note was found in which he stated that he alone was responsible for his death.
Tarun had been living on the second floor of a building with seven single-occupancy rooms, all occupied by UPSC aspirants. He had resided there for about a year before this incident occurred.
Ongoing Investigation
Tarun's mobile phone was recovered at the scene, and his brother in Gurugram has been notified. The crime team conducted an inspection, and legal proceedings are underway. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact reasons behind his suicide.
