Delhi Traffic Alert: Avoid THESE Routes During Republic Day Parade Rehearsals
As Delhi gears up for the Republic Day celebrations, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory for commuters, highlighting key restrictions and alternative routes to ensure smooth traffic flow. The Republic Day parade rehearsals will take place on January 17, 18, 20, and 21, during which multiple roads, especially around Kartavya Path, will face temporary restrictions. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience.

Republic Day Parade Rehearsals: Traffic Restrictions and Key Affected Routes
To facilitate the movement of the parade rehearsals, traffic restrictions will be imposed from 10:15 AM to 12:30 PM on the designated days. The following intersections will be affected:
- Kartavya Path-Rafi Marg crossing
- Kartavya Path-Janpath crossing
- Kartavya Path-Mansingh Road crossing
- Kartavya Path-C-Hexagon
These areas will experience movement restrictions, and vehicles will not be allowed to enter or cross them during the designated time slots.
Delhi Traffic Alert: Alternative Routes for Commuters
To minimize disruption, the Delhi Traffic Police has suggested alternative routes for daily commuters. Those traveling between North and South Delhi can use Ring Road, Sarai Kale Khan, IP Flyover, Rajghat, Lajpat Rai Marg, Mathura Road, Bhairon Road, Aurobindo Marg, Safdarjung Road, Kamal Ataturk Marg, and Kautilya Marg.
For those commuting from East Delhi to Southwest Delhi, Ring Road and Vande Matram Marg will serve as better alternatives.
Travelers heading towards Vinay Marg, Shanti Path, or New Delhi and beyond should take Sardar Patel Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent, the RML roundabout, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, or Park Street-Mandir Marg to avoid congestion near Kartavya Path.
Delhi Traffic Alert: Advice for Commuters
Delhi Traffic Police advises commuters to plan their journeys in advance and opt for public transport, particularly the Delhi Metro, to minimize delays. Real-time traffic updates will be available on the official Delhi Traffic Police Twitter handle and FM radio channels.
As Republic Day approaches, these restrictions are necessary to ensure the smooth conduct of parade rehearsals while maintaining order on the city's roads. Commuters should stay updated on traffic advisories, follow diversions, and cooperate with authorities for hassle-free travel during this period.
