Delhi Traffic Advisory For October 29: Key Routes To Avoid For ‘Run for Unity’

In light of the upcoming 'Run for Unity' event on October 29, 2024, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory and implemented restrictions across the capital.

This initiative celebrates the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known as the Iron Man of India, whose efforts were instrumental in unifying the princely states into the modern Indian nation.

Event Details

  • Date: October 29, 2024
  • Start Time: 7:41 AM
  • Starting Point: Gate No. 1, Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium
  • Route: The rally will proceed to C-Hexagon, take a right turn on the Radial opposite Shahjahan Road, and conclude at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Statue.
  • Participants: Over 7,700 individuals are expected to join the event.

Traffic Restrictions

Traffic restrictions will be in effect around India Gate and C-Hexagon from 6:45 AM until the conclusion of the event. The Delhi Traffic Police has advised the public to plan their travel accordingly.

Routes to Avoid

To ensure a smooth flow of traffic, the following routes will be restricted:

  • Tilak Marg - Bhagwan Dass Road Crossing
  • Purana Quila Road - Mathura Road Crossing
  • Shershah Road - Mathura Road Crossing
  • Dr. Zakir Hussain Marg - Subramanian Bharti Marg Crossing
  • Pandara Road - Subramanian Bharti Marg Crossing
  • Q-Point
  • R/A Mandi House

Suggested Alternative Routes

For those traveling from South to North and vice versa, the following alternative routes are recommended:

  • Ring Road - Sarai Kale Khan - I.P. Flyover - Rajghat
  • Lala Lajpat Rai Marg - Mathura Road - W-Point - A-Point
  • Aurobindo Marg - Kamal Ataturk Marg - Kautilya Marg - Sardar Patel Marg - Mother Teresa Crescent - R/A RML
  • Aurobindo Marg - Aurobindo Chowk - Prithviraj Chowk - R/A MLNP - Janpath or Rafi Marg - Connaught Place - New Delhi Railway Station (Chelmsford Road - Minto Road)

Residents and commuters are encouraged to allow extra travel time and adhere to the traffic guidelines to avoid inconvenience during this significant event.
