Delhi Police Issue Traffic Advisory Ahead Of Dhanteras And Diwali

Ahead of Dhanteras and Diwali celebrations, the Delhi police have issued a traffic advisory, considering the expected traffic conditions during the weekend. The latest advisory from the Delhi Traffic Police outlines special traffic arrangements in preparation for the festivals of Dhanteras and Diwali.

According to the advisory, on November 10 and 12, areas in proximity to the prominent markets in the capital city are anticipated to be densely populated. In order to mitigate inconveniences, the public is encouraged to utilise public transportation. The traffic advisory emphasizes, "Pre Diwali, a high volume of traffic is expected on the city roads, particularly around shopping malls and bustling market areas."

The advisory notice released by the Delhi Traffic Police specifies key markets, including Chandni Chowk, Khari Baoli, Connaught Place, Karol Bagh, Sarojini Nagar, Sadar Bazar, Lajpat Nagar, Nehru Place, Greater Kailash, among others. It also highlights the nearest metro stations, promoting the use of public transport.

In a social media post, the Delhi Traffic Police urged the public to adhere to the traffic advisory in light of the Dhanteras and Diwali festivities.

On a recent Thursday, traffic congestion in the national capital affected several areas as people flocked to the markets ahead of Diwali, causing disruptions for commuters. The Delhi Traffic Police reported receiving approximately 15 calls related to traffic issues on that day.

Several commuters took to social media platforms, expressing their concerns about the city's traffic conditions. Additionally, the traffic police utilized social media to notify the public of a road cave-in near the Jesus Mary Marg-San Martin Marg Red Light, which was affecting traffic flow on San Martin Marg. Commuters were advised to plan their journeys accordingly in light of this incident.
