Delhi Metro Launches International Flight Check-In: Here Are The Details To Simplify Your Travel

The launch of a check-in facility for international flights at two key metro stations in New Delhi, namely New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium on the Airport Express Line, was announced by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

This initiative, introduced in early June, aims to streamline travel procedures for passengers departing from Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in New Delhi.

DMRC's International Flight Check-In: Stations, Features- All You Need To Know

This service expansion, previously limited to domestic flights, now accommodates international passengers through collaborative efforts with Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), Air India, and Vistara Airlines. Additional airlines have been invited by the DMRC to join in offering this convenience to air travellers, as reported by NDTV.

Passengers using the service can check in their luggage at designated counters within these metro stations. The luggage is then securely transported to the aircraft via automated systems, ensuring a seamless transition for travellers. For Air India passengers, the service operates from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM at both New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium stations.

Vistara Airlines passengers can avail of this service at New Delhi station from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. For domestic flights, passengers can check in their luggage between twelve (12) hours and two (2) hours before departure. For international flights, the check-in window is between four (4) hours and three (3) hours before departure, As reported by The Mint.

At New Delhi Metro Station, check-in counters are conveniently located at the concourse level, while at Shivaji Stadium Metro Station, they are adjacent to the VFS Global Office on the same level. Since its launch, the new service has garnered initial interest and usage from passengers at both New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium metro stations, marking a significant enhancement in air travel convenience facilitated by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.
