Delhi-Meerut Expressway Choked by Massive Traffic Jam After Fatal Accident

Due to a severe traffic jam, daily commuters on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway had a terrifying Monday morning experience, with miles-long lanes of cars moving at a snail's pace. It was eventually determined that a horrific traffic collision close to the Sector 63 police station area was the cause of the originally inexplicable gridlock.

The incident reportedly happened on NH-9 when a car collided with two motorcycle riders. The woman on the bike died as a result of the incident, which infuriated the locals. People protested the incident by blocking the road and calling for immediate action. After arriving on the scene and attempting to calm the throng, the police were able to remove the obstruction and partially allow traffic to resume.

The barricade and the ensuing chaos caused a severe traffic gridlock that lasted for several kilometers, from Lal Kuan to Delhi, effectively stopping all vehicle traffic. Many commuters were left stranded for extended periods of time as cars on the expressway were observed to be jammed closely together, scarcely moving forward.

"It became evident that the cause of the jam was a horrific accident before Sector 63," one commuter said, sharing their experience. Everyone is currently delayed and stranded on their way to work. Anxiety and frustration were common among office workers due to the intensity of the gridlock.

A number of two-wheeler riders lifted their vehicles onto the express lanes heading towards Delhi in an effort to get out of the traffic jam. Car drivers, however, had no other options and had to put up with the protracted traffic bottleneck. Another commuter remarked, "A lot of bikers have been able to escape, but like me, many car drivers are still stuck in this misery, with no relief in sight."

Authorities are still keeping an eye on things and removing any leftover traffic. The event brings to light persistent issues with safety and traffic control on one of the busiest highways in the area.
