He conveyed his distress over the media's portrayal of the incident in a statement from Delhi's Raj Niwas, as reported by Hindustan Times. According to Saxena, Maliwal reached out to him personally, sharing her ordeal and expressing her anguish over the intimidation and criticism she faced from her colleagues. During their conversation, Saxena stated that Maliwal detailed the intimidation and shaming she endured from her own colleagues.

"I have been deeply distressed by the media narrative in the past few days regarding the alleged assault on Swati Maliwal, MP, Aam Aadmi Party, at the Chief Minister's residence, where she had gone to meet him alone. Yesterday, she called me out of sheer anguish, describing her traumatic experience in detail, along with concerns about evidence tampering and coercion," he said in the statement.

Swati Maliwal accused Bibhav Kumar of assaulting her on May 8 at Arvind Kejriwal's residence in Delhi, alleging that Kejriwal was present during the incident, as reported by Hindustan Times. The Aam Aadmi Party defended Kejriwal's personal secretary, stating that Maliwal entered the CM's house without an appointment and suggesting that she intended to harm Kejriwal at the BJP's behest.

Atishi, on Monday, claimed that the BJP compelled Maliwal to file an FIR against Bibhav Kumar using an old ACB case as leverage. The AAP released several CCTV clips from Kejriwal's residence during the alleged incident, arguing that the footage showed Maliwal walking normally afterwards.

The Bharatiya Janata Party demanded an explanation from Kejriwal regarding how Maliwal entered his house despite having Z-level security. Bibhav Kumar was arrested by Delhi police on Sunday. Additionally, the police recorded statements from all the staff present at Kejriwal's house on May 13.
