Delhi Elections Date Expected Soon, Election Commission Holds Preparatory Meeting
With the Delhi Assembly elections impending in February next year, the Election Commission recently convened a meeting with political parties' representatives at Palika Kendra, central Delhi. This half-hour discussion, attended by notable figures such as Lok Sabha MP Bansuri Swaraj from the BJP and Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chaddha from the AAP, touched on numerous subjects, emphasizing the importance of readiness for the forthcoming electoral battle.

The readiness of the poll machinery in Delhi was a focal point, given the proximity of the assembly elections. This preparation underscores the Election Commission's efforts to ensure a smooth electoral process. With the assembly elections just around the corner, the political landscape in Delhi is heating up, evidenced by the parties' strategic moves and public declarations.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is taking a confident stance towards the upcoming elections, evident from a post by Arvind Kejriwal on X. Kejriwal's message highlighted the AAP's comprehensive preparation and confidence in facing the elections, contrasted with the BJP's perceived lack of direction. He critiqued the BJP for not having a chief ministerial candidate, a cohesive team, a clear plan, or a vision for Delhi, labelling their campaign as singularly focused on opposing him. "BJP is missing. They have no CM face, no team, no planning and no vision for Delhi. They have only one slogan, only one policy and only one mission - 'Remove Kejriwal'. Ask them what they did in five years and they reply, 'Kejriwal ko bahut gaali di'," Kejriwal asserted.
On the candidate announcement front, the AAP has been proactive, releasing four lists that cover all constituencies. Their final list of 38 candidates was made public on December 15. The Congress, not far behind, has announced 21 candidates. However, the BJP has not yet released its list of candidates for the 70-member Delhi Assembly, adding to the anticipation and speculation regarding their electoral strategy.
