Delhi Election Results 2025: Netizens Troll AAP as BJP Crosses Majority Mark
February 8 will determine the future leadership of India's national capital. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is vying for a third consecutive term, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) seeks to reclaim power in Delhi after a twenty-year hiatus.
Early trends show the BJP, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, significantly ahead of Arvind Kejriwal's AAP. As results begin to emerge, social media has been inundated with jokes, memes, and sarcastic commentary.

"It doesn't matter who wins or loses. The real loser in this Delhi election is undoubtedly the Election Commission of India," one user commented on Twitter (now X).
The BJP crossed the crucial 36-seat mark in trends soon after counting began this morning, establishing a strong lead over the AAP, which has governed Delhi for 11 consecutive years.
What Did the Exit Polls Predict?
Over 60% of Delhi's 1.5 crore voters cast their ballots in the February 5 election for 70 assembly seats. Exit polls suggested that the BJP might bring an end to AAP's decade-long administration. According to Axis My India, the BJP is projected to win between 45-55 seats, surpassing the majority threshold of 36. The AAP is expected to secure 15-25 seats, while the Congress may win just 0-1 seats.
If these predictions prove accurate, the BJP could regain control of Delhi, replacing the incumbent AAP government. The BJP has not held power in Delhi since 1998.
The AAP, under Arvind Kejriwal's leadership, previously claimed a decisive victory in the last two Delhi elections, securing 67 out of 70 seats in 2015 and 62 seats in 2020.
