Delhi Elections: AAP Manifesto Out - Kejriwal Reaffirms Rs 2,100 For Women, Discounted Travel, Clean Yamuna

AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal unveiled the party's manifesto on Monday ahead of the Delhi assembly elections scheduled for next month.

The manifesto outlines the party's commitments, including guaranteed employment for the youth, the 'Mahila Samman Yojna,' and free medical treatment for the elderly.

It also pledges free bus travel for students and a 50 per cent discount on metro fares if the party is re-elected.

The former Delhi chief minister reaffirmed his promise to provide a monthly allowance of ₹2,100 for women in the next term.

He also assured voters that the AAP government would focus on providing clean drinking water, cleaning the Yamuna River, and improving roads over the next five years if given another mandate.

Kejriwal stated that six ongoing initiatives, or "revdis" (freebies), including free education, healthcare, bus rides for women, water, and electricity, would continue in the next term.

BJP vs AAP Manifesto Debate

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), meanwhile, released the third part of its manifesto for the February 5 Delhi assembly elections on Saturday.

BJP pledged to grant ownership rights in 1,700 unauthorised colonies and clean the Yamuna within three years if elected to power.

The BJP also promised free medical treatment up to ₹5 lakh under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, which would be implemented in the very first cabinet meeting.

An additional ₹5 lakh in free treatment would be provided by the Delhi government, amounting to a total of ₹10 lakh, according to Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The AAP has accused the BJP of copying its policies for electoral promises, with former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia calling it an "admission of defeat."
