Delhi: Dalit Woman Gang Raped, Forced To Convert To Islam

A Dalit woman has made allegations of abduction, gang-rape, and brutal torture involving a group of men in the national capital's Batla House area.

The 23-year-old victim further alleged that her captors subjected her to psychological trauma and attempted to forcibly convert her religion during the ordeal, News18 reported.

Going by the complaint, the woman's ordeal began in 2021 after she connected on social media with a man who identified himself as Sahil. She later discovered his true identity to be Faheem. The victim stated that Faheem initially gained her trust by claiming to be from a wealthy Hindu family and expressing a desire for marriage.

The situation turned violent in 2022 when the woman was lured to Batla House. She alleges she was gang-raped there by the accused and a friend, who reportedly filmed the assault to use as blackmail. The victim was subsequently transported to Meerut, where she says the sexual assaults continued. In a chilling account of her captivity, the woman described being soaked in blood and showered with animal meat as a means of intimidation.

She also alleged that she discovered Faheem and his relatives were involved in illegal arms dealing and that she was later tortured by an individual identified as Tasleem Maulvi.

South East Delhi Police have registered an FIR at the Jamia Nagar Police Station, as the initial assault allegedly occurred within that jurisdiction. Authorities confirmed that four suspects have been taken into custody thus far.

The investigation revealed that Faheem had previously been arrested by Gurugram Police in 2025. During that arrest, a mobile phone containing the alleged videos and photos of the victim was seized-a development the woman said gave her the courage to speak out, believing the blackmail material was finally secured. Despite his incarceration, the victim alleges that Faheem has continued to contact her from Mandoli Jail and that she has received threatening communications from a Dubai-based phone number.

Police officials stated that a comprehensive investigation into the gang-rape, torture, and allegations of organized criminal activity is currently underway.

Last week, in a chilling echo of the 2012 Nirbhaya case, a 30-year-old married woman was allegedly gang-raped on a moving sleeper bus in North Delhi's Rani Bagh area on Monday night. Delhi Police have arrested the bus driver and conductor in connection with the assault and have seized the vehicle.
