Delhi Crime: Man Beaten, Wife Molested in Brutal Laxmi Nagar Assault; One Arrested

A family in Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar was attacked on the street, with a man beaten, the wife allegedly molested, and their son stripped naked and assaulted. Police said the incident took place on January 2 and was captured on CCTV cameras.

Officers stated that gym owner Rajesh Garg was assaulted by a group linked to the gym’s caretaker, Satish Yadav. Satish Yadav has been arrested, while three others, identified as Vikas Yadav, Shubham Yadav, and Omkar Yadav, are currently absconding, according to the police.

Delhi Laxmi Nagar assault linked to gym dispute

Garg and the spouse run a gym in the basement of their Laxmi Nagar house. Police said Garg has accused caretaker Satish Yadav of cheating the family and attempting to seize control of the business, which allegedly led to repeated arguments earlier.

On January 2, Garg and the spouse went downstairs to inspect a water leak in the basement. At that point, according to the complaint, Satish Yadav arrived with several men. Garg alleged they started punching and kicking, and also molested the spouse inside the gym area.

The first information report stated that the attackers then turned on the couple’s son when the son came to check on the disturbance. Garg said the group dragged the son outside to the street, stripped the son naked in public view, and continued beating the son.

In the FIR, the spouse said the men pulled the spouse by the hair, hit the spouse on the face, and kicked and pushed the spouse out onto the road. The spouse also said Satish Yadav had earlier claimed ownership of the gym despite never receiving such rights.

The FIR recorded the spouse’s statement, which said: "They dragged him (her husband) into the gym, stripped him, and beat him with iron rods. They threatened to end his bloodline," she said in the FIR. NDTV has seen a copy of it, police sources said.

Police said they are analysing the CCTV footage from Laxmi Nagar and searching for the three wanted men. The case, centred on the dispute over the basement gym and the alleged assault on the family, remains under investigation.
