Delhi Cong unit likely to drop sitting MPs for LS polls

Delhi Cong unit in a fix
New Delhi, Mar 11: With less than a month for the Lok Sabha elections, Congress party in Delhi has completed the primaries for the New Delhi constituency.

However reports suggest that the party may not repeat some of its sitting MPs. The seats in question are South Delhi and North West. Currently these seats are represented by Ramesh Kumar and Union Minister Krishna Tirath respectively.

Party sources say that since Rahul Gandhi has been very keen on introducing the youth brigade this election, he may do away with some sitting MPs. Earlier Jagdish Tytler had to withdraw his candidature from the North East primaries after orders from the higher ups in the party.

The Delhi unit has been asking to repeat some sitting MPs but the Congress leaders asked the Central Election Committee to prepare a fresh list of candidates.
