Delhi Assembly Polls: 3 Unfulfilled Promises By Arvind Kejriwal, AAP Convener Reveals

Arvind Kejriwal, leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, recently acknowledged that he had not fulfilled three key promises: cleaning the Yamuna River, providing clean drinking water, and upgrading Delhi's roads to European standards. He assured that these projects would be completed in the next five years if his party is re-elected in the upcoming assembly elections.

While addressing a crowd in Laxmi Bai Nagar, Kejriwal reiterated his commitment to these promises. "I am truthful to my promises. Either I fulfil them or I remind that I promised but couldn't do it. I could not fulfill three promises - first cleaning the Yamuna, second, providing clean drinking water and third making Delhi's roads of European standards," he stated.

Progress on Key Initiatives

Kejriwal mentioned that significant progress has been made towards cleaning the Yamuna River. He expects this task to be completed within two to three years. Additionally, a 24-hour drinking water supply has already begun in Rajendra Nagar and will soon extend to all areas of Delhi. Road quality improvements are also planned for completion within five years.

The AAP leader highlighted achievements in education and electricity supply as well. He noted that power outages lasting up to 10 hours were common in 2014, but now Delhi enjoys a continuous 24-hour electricity supply. Despite BJP governing 20 states, they have not achieved this feat. Moreover, Delhi boasts the lowest electricity rates.

Education Reforms and Achievements

Kejriwal emphasised the government's focus on enhancing education quality in government schools. "We have provided good education to children. No government focused on government schools. We have built amazing government schools," he said.

The previous year's results showed a 99.7% success rate for government schools compared to 92% for private ones.He expressed pride in offering free and quality education, considering it an act of patriotism. As Delhi Assembly elections approach on February 5 with vote counting on February 8, Kejriwal remains hopeful about fulfilling his unaccomplished promises if given another term by voters.
