Delhi Airport Issues Advisory: Flight Arrivals May Be Delayed
Due to changing wind patterns in the area, Delhi International Airport has issued a passenger advisory advising about possible flight delays today. In order to ensure safe flight operations, the alert, which was issued at 9:26 AM on Friday, states that Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) procedures for arriving planes will be in force from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM IST.
In order to preserve safety and reduce danger during inclement weather, these ATFM precautions are typical worldwide practices. Authorities at the airport have stressed that all other activities, including departures, terminal services, and all three runways, will proceed normally, even though arrival timetables might be affected.

The following warning was posted on the airport's official X (formerly Twitter) account: "Some airline operations may experience delays due to shifting wind patterns in the vicinity of the airport." In order to ensure safe operations in compliance with international and regulatory standards, ATC authorities will employ air traffic flow management measures for flight arrivals from 1230 IST to 1630 IST today. Delhi Airport's three runways and all other terminal operations are still running well. For the most recent information on flight schedules, travelers are encouraged to keep in contact with their individual airlines. We truly apologize for any inconvenience and value your patience.
During the impacted time, Air Traffic Control (ATC) will be keeping a careful eye on the situation and putting safety first. For real-time information on any schedule changes, travelers are encouraged to check directly with their airlines.
Strong winds are predicted to blow through Delhi all day, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Residents may experience thunderstorms on April 19 that include lightning, strong surface winds, and, in certain places, very little to moderate rainfall. Strong surface winds are expected during the day, and these conditions are expected to last until April 20.
under order to preserve flight safety under difficult weather circumstances, authorities have thanked passengers for their understanding and patience as they put these precautionary measures into place.
