Delhi Adds 200 New Electric Buses to Boost Green Public Transport

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday flagged off 200 new electric buses, marking a major step towards strengthening the city's eco-friendly public transport system.

The move is part of the government's broader plan to improve connectivity, reduce pollution, and offer a more comfortable travel experience to daily commuters.

Push Towards Cleaner Mobility

The addition of 200 electric buses is expected to significantly enhance Delhi's green mobility network. Electric buses produce less pollution compared to traditional fuel-based vehicles, helping the city tackle air quality issues.

Delhi-Rohtak E-Bus Service Launched

Along with the new buses, the government also launched the Delhi-Rohtak interstate electric bus service, improving connectivity between Delhi and neighbouring Haryana.

New Infrastructure to Support Expansion

As part of the development, two key infrastructure projects were also introduced:

• Madanpur Khadar bus terminal was inaugurated to support better bus operations
• A new administrative building at East Vinod Nagar Depot was dedicated to improve management and efficiency

These additions aim to strengthen the overall public transport system and ensure smoother operations.
