New Delhi, Oct 5: A lot more needs to be done as Pakistan plans on sending terrorists into India through a fresh wave of infiltrations, the top brass in the Indian security establishment has told the government.

At the Cabinet Committee meeting on security that was held on Wednesday in New Delhi, the National Security Advisor Ajit Doval told prime minister Narendra Modi that Pakistan is planning a fresh wave of infiltration of terrorists into India.

The NSA also said that there is credible information gathered through intelligence inputs that several terror launch pads have come up. Terrorists were being moved into these launch pads across the border in batches. They pose a grave threat to security, the top official also said at the meeting.

It was also said that Pakistan has been resorting to heavy firing along the border area. This is not being done as a retaliatory measure, but to facilitate the movement of terrorists. They want to get as many terrorists as possible into India before winter sets in, both Prime Minister and the Home Minister were told at the meeting.

An officer with intelligence bureau informed that there has been a fresh attempt by Pakistan to push in more terrorists into India. Terrorists being sent into the launch pads have been sighted.

Pakistan still wants to send terrorists into the Valley to keep it on the boil, the officer also notes.

The meeting also discussed the escalation of tension along the border areas. The recent attack on the Baramulla security camp last Sunday was also discussed at the meeting. Further discussions on counter insurgency operations also took place to flush out militants in Jammu and Kashmir.
