Congress not happy with Chidambaram's advice to Gandhis
Party spokesperson Rashid Alvi said the leaders, especially the senior ones, should give their advice in the party forum and not openly. Chidambaram, the former Union finance minister, told in an interview that the Gandhis should speak more and execute a timetable to help the demoralised party play the role of a true opposition.
He though reiterated that the Congress president Sonia Gandhi was the numero uno but cautioned that a non-Gandhi might take over the reins from her as the party president in the future.
It can be mentioned here that the Congress has lost a series of elections, both at the state and the Centre, since early 2012 and is in a serious trouble of being wiped out from mainland India.
