Cong leader thrash Rai's allegations
New Delhi, Sept 12: A day after former CAG Vinod Rai revealed that three Congress MPs- Sanjay Nirupam, Sandeep Dikshit and Ashwani Kumar pressurised him to omit the name of the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh from the CAG reports on 2G, reactions have been pouring in from the political fraternity.

Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam on Friday rubbished Rai's allegations and said that allegations made by Rai were an 'outright lie.' " I never talked to him, I challenege his memory and and want to remind him that I never met him," Nirupam said.

Nirupam threatened to drag Rai to the court for defamation if Rai didn't retract his statement.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Kamal Nath today said that things would have been if the PM had taken action in the 2G scam. "I did write and caution the PM Manmohan Singh," Nath said.

Rai , whose revelations have rocked the Congress to its core, said that Manmohan Singh knew of the actions being taken in the allocation of the 2G spectrum but kept mum inspite of requests from Cabinet collegaues.

Rai's reports on the controversial spectrum allocation and coal block settlement has put the UPA Government in a tough spot.
