Congress dismisses Priyanka Gandhi's election campaign rumours

Priyanka won't campaign for Congress
New Delhi, Oct 14: On Monday speculations were rife with news of Priyanka Gandhi campaigning in 2014 to counter BJP's Narendra Modi campaign for the 2014 elections.

According to some reports, it was said that Rahul Gandhi's sister Priyanka would be campaigning for Congress but the party was quick to dismiss these rumours. Congress spokesperson Ajay Maken said: "Some TV channels are reporting that Priyankaji will campaign for Congress. It is completely wrong."

He also emphasized that she will only campaign in Rae Bareli and Amethi, the Lok Sabha constituencies for Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and other regions were out of question.

Priyanka will campaign only in Rae Bareily and Amethi

Maken also alleged that the reports were in the news to shift attention from what had happened in Madhya Pradesh, where 115 people died in a stampede.

Priyanka Gandhi has always been seen supporting her mother and brother and has been campaigning in Amethi and Rae Bareli but has never shown interest in joining politics.

As of now Rahul Gandhi has always been pitted against Modi in the fight in the upcoming Assembly elections.
