LS Committee to submit report on Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday
The committee that had summoned the MP on November 28 is said to have concluded that Bhagwant Mann was guilty of compromising security of the parliament.
The Lok Sabha committee constituted by speaker Sumitra Mahajan is all set to submit its report on AAP MP Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday. The 9-member committee was set up to inquire into parliament security breach video shot by the AAP MP and recommend action.
The committee that had summoned the MP on November 28 is said to have concluded that Bhagwant Mann was guilty of compromising security of the parliament. In a 12-minute video, recorded as his vehicle passed barricades of the parliament in July this year, Bhagwant Mann is heard saying he will show things that haven't been seen before.
The video clipping led to ruckus in the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha alike with MPs asking for stringent action against Mann. The Lok Sabha inquiry committee in September this year had said it was looking into videography issue and was likely to call two Meghalaya MPs, who were witness to the AAP MP's livestreaming of the security apparatus of Parliament House on July 21.
Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan had set up the nine-member committee on July 25 to look into the issue. The panel was asked to examine Mann's conduct and recommend action.
