CM Rekha Gupta Credits PM Modi For Shift From ‘Beti Bachao’ To ‘Beti Badhao’ At Delhi Event

At the 'Nari Shakti Vandan Sammelan’ in Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta highlighted how women’s lives in India are changing. Rekha Gupta said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the focus has moved beyond saving and educating daughters, towards actively helping them advance in every sector.

Rekha Gupta contrasted the present with difficult decades when many girls were killed before birth. Rekha Gupta reminded the audience that society first had to fight female foeticide, then work hard so girls could reach schools. Rekha Gupta added that the country has now stepped into a new stage of progress.

Speaking about opportunities, Rekha Gupta said girls are no longer limited to classrooms. Rekha Gupta expressed happiness that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, daughters are now flying fighter jets and guarding borders. Rekha Gupta noted that these achievements show how far India has travelled from earlier struggles.

Rekha Gupta also discussed the policy shift from earlier slogans. First came the mission of “Beti Bachao”, which aimed to protect the lives of daughters. Then the focus turned to “Beti Padhao”, which worked to send girls to school. Rekha Gupta stressed that the current era adds a new step of “Beti Badhao”.

According to Rekha Gupta, women’s dignity and safety stand at the centre of every major Union government scheme. Rekha Gupta cited the Swachh Bharat Mission, explaining that toilets mean not only cleanliness but also privacy and respect for women. Rekha Gupta underlined that such basic facilities directly influence confidence and social security.

Rekha Gupta said the Ujjwala Yojana has given smokeless kitchens to families, protecting women’s health and safety. Rekha Gupta pointed out that Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan accounts have helped women gain financial independence. Through banking access, many women now handle savings and benefits directly, which strengthens their voice within families and communities.

A key part of Rekha Gupta’s address was the “Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam”. Rekha Gupta called it the foundation of “women-led development” and said it will not remain just on paper. Rekha Gupta stated that this law opens leadership paths for around 70 crore women and supports India’s growth and global recognition through women’s strength.
