Car Breaches Security at Delhi Assembly, Unidentified Man Places A Bouquet; Flees Scene

A white Tata Sierra with a Uttar Pradesh registration triggered a major security scare at the Delhi Legislative Assembly on Monday after breaching the complex by ramming through a barricade. Officials later confirmed that the driver has been identified and taken into custody, while security arrangements at the Assembly are being reviewed.

According to authorities, the vehicle entered the premises through Gate No. 2 after breaking past an iron barrier. Once inside, the car remained in the compound for a few minutes. During that time, the driver stepped out and placed a bouquet near the porch outside Speaker Vijender Gupta's office before getting back into the vehicle.

The car then retraced its path, exited through the same gate it had forced open, and left the area before security personnel could stop it.

The sudden breach caused panic within the complex. People present nearby rushed toward the entry point after hearing a loud crash, while others tried to assess how the vehicle managed to enter a restricted, high-security zone.

Witnesses said the impact of the vehicle breaking through the barricade was loud enough to draw immediate attention. Within moments, several individuals gathered near the gate and porch area, watching the car's movement as it reversed and sped away.

Security teams later examined the bouquet left outside the Speaker's office and found no suspicious material. Despite that, the incident has raised serious concerns over access control and response time inside the Assembly premises.

Officials have begun reviewing CCTV footage, checking entry protocols, and questioning personnel who were on duty at the time. The breach has exposed vulnerabilities in the existing security system, prompting authorities to consider tighter vehicle checks, improved barricading, and stronger monitoring mechanisms.
