Building collapses in Azad Market, 2 dead and 2 injured

Building collapses in New Delhi
New Delhi, Oct 9: A three- storey building collapsed in the Azad Market area, New Delhi on Wednesday morning killing two people.

Five fire tenders rushed to the spot and were engaged in the rescue efforts on Wednesday morning.

Local people here and police personnel rushed to the spot and tried to rescue those who were trapped. People who were on the spot when the incident took place say that the building fell like a pack of cards and it sounded as if the area was struck by an earthquake.

According to reports two people were killed and one was injured in the incident.

A case has been filed against the owner of the building for negligence.

This is the second incident of building collapse in a week. On Friday in Mumbai a building had collapsed that claimed 61 lives.
