BSP MP Dhananjay Singh faces fresh rape charges

New Delhi, Nov 23:

MP Dhananjay Singh on Saturday was slapped with a fresh charge of unnatural offence in another case of rape lodged against him.

Singh had allegedly raped a 42-year-old woman repeatedly and even intimidated her between 2005-2009. In an FIR lodged by the woman, Singh had repeatedly raped her at gunpoint and threatened her with dire consequences if she reported the matter to anyone.

According to reports, the police told a Delhi court that they have added another charge under the section 377 of IPC.

The FIR was filed recently after the woman approached the police.

Singh was arrested along with his wife Jagriti Singh in connection with the murder of their maid. The maid bore many injury marks on her body. According to the police, Singh's wife used to beat up the maid and torture her a lot.

Dhananjay was arrested for destroying evidence and not informing the police about the maid's death immediately.
