BJP's Parvesh Verma Denies AAP's Allegations, Claims Kejriwal's Car 'Ran Over' 3 Youths During Campaign
Reacting to the Aam Aadmi Party's claim that Arvind Kejriwal's car was attacked during his campaigning on Saturday, BJP leader Parvesh Verma countered that the vehicle had hit three young men who were protesting against the AAP leader.
Verma, the BJP's candidate for the New Delhi assembly constituency, accused Kejriwal of instructing the driver to run over the protesters.

"When Arvind Kejriwal was door-to-door campaigning near Lal Bahadur Sadan, residents of the New Delhi constituency were raising questions about employment and other issues... Three individuals named Vishal, Abhishek, and Rohit, who are unemployed, tried to ask questions, but Punjab Police beat them up, and a worker's phone was broken," Verma told news agency ANI.
He further stated that Kejriwal signalled for the car to run over the youths.
"Arvind Kejriwal's car hit these three youths. The driver applied the brakes when he saw them, but Kejriwal gestured for the driver to crush them. The youths were injured. This is an attempt to murder, and I am heading to the police station. The three youths will also file an FIR, and a case of attempted murder will be registered," Verma added.
He dismissed AAP's allegation as "baseless."
AAP had earlier accused the BJP of orchestrating an attack on Kejriwal.
The AAP posted on X, "Fearing defeat, the BJP panicked and sent its goons to attack Arvind Kejriwal. While BJP candidate Pravesh Verma was campaigning, his goons threw bricks and stones at Kejriwal's vehicle to harm him and prevent him from campaigning. BJP people, Kejriwal will not be intimidated by your cowardly attack, and the people of Delhi will give you a fitting reply."
AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar also commented, stating that Parvesh Verma was present during the incident.
"Once again, BJP goons attacked Arvind Kejriwal with stones while he was campaigning in New Delhi. Parvesh Verma was there, and he was shocked to see that despite all their efforts, the public still supports Kejriwal," she said.
Kakkar called for the Election Commission to intervene, stating, "This attack is deeply condemnable. The Election Commission seems indifferent to ensuring a peaceful election in New Delhi. Immediate action should be taken. We hope the Election Commission will finally take notice."
The Delhi Assembly election is set for February 5, with results to be declared on February 8. Parvesh Verma is set to challenge Kejriwal for the New Delhi seat. Earlier, AAP accused Verma of attempting to sway voters with shoes, money, and blankets.
