New Delhi, Dec 24: The BJP has decided to aggressively campaign for its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi by spreading "Narendra Modi for PM" message across the nation to reach out to more than 10 crore people, sources in the party said after a strategy meet to discuss ways of making its campaign for the next general elections more effective.
Top leaders including chief ministers from various states and other members attended the meet.
The BJP, bolstered by its success in the recently held assembly polls in four major states, is looking to build on it further. The BJP won 407 of the 589 seats that went to the polls since November 11. The party formed governments in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh while finished as the single-largest party in Delhi. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which finished second-largest in Delhi, formed the state government with the support of the Congress.
BJP's general secretary Anant Kumar on Tuesday said that apart from chalking out the campaign programme around Modi, it would also work at the booth levels. The party also discussed ways to reach out to voters from all sections and ages through traditional campaigning and use of the social media, rallies and workshops.
It was also known from party sources that the BJP's council and executive conclave will be held in January.
