BJP likely to restructure welfare schemes, may push for tax reforms

BJP's economic agenda, which will be unveiled on Feb 27, is likely to make a push for infrastructre projects and will also aim to restructure certain welfare schemes. BJP is making a move to redesign the welfare schemes in order to increase productivity and lead to asset creation.

The party will be focussing on agricultural sector and sectors relating to it. Certain schemes like the NREGS could be redesigned again so that it can benefit the farmers.
The party is hoping to witness a revival in the manufaturing sectors and the field of agriculture so that the economy can bounce back. Modi had also asserted the need for creating 100 smart cities and focussing on them.
He had infact said that each state had different requirements and these requirement needed to be kept in mind while framing policies for that particular state. Reports suggest that BJP may push for some tax reforms too as part of its economic agenda.
