BJP Deliberates On Delhi CM Pick: Parvesh Verma, Vijender Gupta Among Frontrunners
After the BJP's decisive victory, attention has shifted to the crucial question of who will be the next Chief Minister of Delhi.
While several names, including those of the party's MPs from Delhi, have been circulating, indications suggest that the party leadership may opt for one of the winning MLAs to avoid two by-elections-one resulting from the resignation of a Lok Sabha MP and another if a sitting MLA is persuaded to vacate their seat.

Among the many contenders, Parvesh Verma has emerged as a frontrunner following his remarkable victory over Arvind Kejriwal in the latter's stronghold of New Delhi.
The son of former Chief Minister Saheb Singh Verma, Parvesh, who previously won the West Delhi Lok Sabha seat twice, is regarded as a strong Jat leader and could further strengthen the BJP's connection with the community, which appears to have backed the party.
Vijender Gupta, the BJP's leader in the outgoing Assembly, is also considered a strong candidate. He secured his third consecutive victory from Rohini.
"It is too premature," a party insider stated. "The leadership is not going to be rushed into a decision and, in all likelihood, it will be taken after PM Modi's return from the US on Friday."
The BJP is known for surprising selections in state leadership, often choosing relatively low-profile figures to maintain control and introduce fresh perspectives.
This suggests the party may look beyond Verma, Gupta, and other prominent names, opting for someone who can appeal to a broader demographic or fulfil specific regional and community expectations.
