Arvind Kejriwal Claims Plot To Arrest Delhi CM Atishi Over Welfare Schemes
In a bold and controversial statement, Arvind Kejriwal, the national convener of AAP and Delhi Chief Minister, accused certain forces within the political landscape of plotting to arrest Delhi Chief Minister Atishi in a fabricated case.
Kejriwal's claim follows the announcement of several welfare initiatives by the Delhi government, including the Mahila Samman Yojana and the Sanjeevani Yojana, which he believes have caused unease among some political opponents.

On his official social media platform, X, Kejriwal accused "some people" of being unsettled by the launch of these welfare schemes and planning to arrest Atishi as part of a larger political conspiracy. He further suggested that raids would be conducted on senior AAP leaders in an effort to undermine the party's governance agenda. Kejriwal, determined to expose what he described as attempts to hinder AAP's public welfare work, announced a press conference scheduled for 12 noon to reveal more details.
"Some people have been rattled by the Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjeevani Yojana. They have planned to arrest Atishi in the next few days in a fabricated case. Before that, raids will be conducted on senior AAP leaders," Kejriwal stated in his tweet.
The AAP government has rolled out a series of welfare schemes aimed at benefiting women and the elderly, ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. Among these, the Mahila Samman Yojana offers a monthly stipend of Rs 1,000 to eligible women, a program inspired by Maharashtra's successful Ladli Behna Yojana, which helped the BJP retain power in the state. Kejriwal has promised that the amount under the scheme will be increased to Rs 2,100 if AAP is re-elected.
Kejriwal's accusations add another layer of tension in the political arena, with the ruling AAP party setting its sights on expanding its support base through these welfare programs. However, opposition parties, particularly the BJP, have voiced concerns over the initiatives, calling them attempts to sway voters ahead of the elections.
As the political drama unfolds, all eyes are on the developments surrounding Atishi's alleged impending arrest, as well as the raids Kejriwal claims are planned on senior AAP leaders.
