The interim bail in the Delhi excise policy case was granted to him by the Supreme Court till June 1. Arrangements were made at Tihar gate number 3 but Kejriwal was released from gate number 4 from where he came to gate no 3 and addressed the supporters. Interim bail was granted to the Aam Aadmi Party convener by the Supreme Court in view of the Lok Sabha election.

The order of Kejriwal's interim bill was passed around 2 pm by the Supreme Court. The jail authorities processed the order once it reached the jail and after completing the formalities, Kejriwal was released. According to the bail conditions, visiting the CM office or the Secretariat, discharging any chief ministerial duty, and returning to jail on June 2 are restricted for Kejriwal.

"I have only one appeal to all of you that we will have to save the country from dictatorship," Kejriwal said, thanking Supreme Court judges for granting him interim bail. Kejriwal left Tihar in his own convoy and was accompanied by his wife Sunita Kejriwal, daughter Harshita, and AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak.

Celebrations began among party workers after the interim bail order was given. Sweets were distributed by AAP supporters, and dhol beats and slogans like "Jail ke taale toot gaye, Kejriwal ji choot gaye", "Modi ji ja rahe hain, Kejriwal ji aa rahe hain," and "Dekho dekho kon aaya, sher aaya sher aaya" were raised.
