Arun Jaitley says using Modi's charismatic personality for votes

Arun Jaitley is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha. He has previously held the portfolios as the Union cabinet Minister for Commerce and Industry, Law and Justice in the National Democratic Alliance government.

Jaitley is standing from Amritsar constituency for the Lok Sabha 2014 elections.

Jaitley answered questions based on politics, finance and globalisation in India. People from across the country asked questions on Google hangouts with #AskJaitley tags.

Jaitley pointed out the if the crime does not decrease, we need to have mass education to educate people about the kind of offenses that are being carried out and its effects.

He also believes that the state government should be given more power than the center and that the state has a bigger role to play in the development of the state than that of the center.

The judiciary system has become ineffective because there is a pressure of lot of cases on it. we have to make the system simpler and work towards the process simplification rather than crying over it.

If they come to power, Jaitley would like to concentrateon the National highway projects interlinking the northeast states.

"We are trying to project Narendra Modi as electoral strategy because he has a charismatic personality but at the end of the day, Modi is going to lead the BJP led NDA in the country. If you look at other states led by BJP, every chief minister has their own role to play," concluded Jaitley
