Anand Parbat case: Arvind Kejriwal to meet BS Bassi today

New Delhi, July 20: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal will meet Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi on Monday to discuss the law and order situation in the Capital.

This comes after a 19-year-old was stabbed in Anand Parbat locality last week for protesting against an eve-teasing attempt on herself.

Manwhile, Bassi is scheduled to meet Delhi LG Najeeb Jung on Monday, JUly morning.

Kejriwal, on the other hand, appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to hand over the control of Delhi Police to his government. Speaking on the murder of the 19-year-old, Kejriwal said that crime related incidents were on the rise and that women do not feel safe in the Capital.

19-year-old Meenakshi was stabbed to death allegedly by two brothers living in her neighbourhood for protesting their verbal abuse on July 16.

Kejriwal had on Saturday, July 18 announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the family of a girl and ordered a magisterial probe into the case.
