“Agar Didi Paise De Deti…”: Accused’s Chilling Claim In Delhi IRS Officer’s Daughter Murder
A 19-year-old former domestic help accused of raping and murdering the daughter of a senior Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer in South Delhi has told investigators that he did not enter the house with the intention to kill. During interrogation, Rahul Meena allegedly said he had gone to the Kailash Hills residence only to steal money, but the situation escalated after the 22-year-old woman resisted.

Police sources said the accused repeatedly claimed the killing was not premeditated, even as investigators pieced together a chilling sequence of events that began in Rajasthan and ended in a brutal crime inside the officer's home.
From Alwar To Delhi: The Trail Before The Crime
According to investigators, Rahul Meena had worked at the IRS officer's house for around eight months, earning Rs 20,000 along with bonuses, before he was removed from the job over allegations that he had developed a habit of borrowing money from domestic workers in the neighbourhood and taking goods from local shopkeepers.
On Tuesday evening, Meena had reportedly attended a wedding with a friend in Alwar, with whom he used to play Ludo. Later that night, police allege, he returned alone to the village, went to the same friend's house, sexually assaulted the friend's wife, and stole a mobile phone.
Investigators said he then tried to avoid suspicion by selling three mobile phones, including his own and those of family members, before hiring a cab to Delhi for Rs 6,000. A portion of the money was allegedly used for online betting.
After reaching Delhi, he is said to have left without paying the cab driver and walked to the home of his former employer in Kailash Hills. Police believe the accused had planned to carry out a robbery in Delhi and return to Alwar with the money.
How Police Say The Attack Unfolded Inside The Kailash Hills House
Because he had previously worked in the house, Meena was familiar with the property layout and the family's routine. Police said he used a spare key to enter the residence and headed straight to the rooftop study.
The victim, an IIT graduate who was preparing for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination, was inside the study when he entered. When she questioned why he was there, the accused allegedly told her, "Aunty ne bulaya tha kaam se (Aunty called me for some work)."
Investigators said Meena then demanded money. When she refused, an argument broke out and soon turned violent. Police allege he struck her with a lamp, causing injuries to her face and body, before strangling her with a mobile phone charging cable.
According to the probe, the accused then sexually assaulted the woman while she was unconscious. He allegedly dragged her downstairs to the room where the locker was kept and tried to open it by pressing her blood-stained finger against the biometric scanner.
Police sources said the locker did not open, possibly because the victim had already died and the biometric scanner could not recognise her thumb impression.
He then allegedly broke open the locker with a screwdriver, stole cash and jewellery, changed his blood-stained pants and shoes, and fled the scene.
"I Wanted Money Anyhow": What The Accused Told Investigators
During questioning, Meena allegedly tried to distance himself from the murder motive, insisting that the crime spiralled out of control when the victim resisted.
He told investigators, "Agar didi paise de deti to aisa nahi hota (If sister had given the money, this would not have happened)." Police sources said he repeatedly maintained that "it just happened."
When asked why he attacked the woman, the accused allegedly said, "I came with the intent of stealing money and jewellery. But didi started shouting, resisting, and stopping me. I hit her with a lamp and she fell unconscious."
He also repeatedly said, "Main maarna nahi chahta tha par ho gaya (I didn't want to kill her, but it just happened."
Before Judicial Magistrate Deepika Thakaran, who granted Delhi Police four days of custodial interrogation, the accused reportedly said, "Mujhse apradh ho gaya... Galti ho gayi (I committed a crime, a mistake)."
Asked whether he felt any fear over what he had done, Meena allegedly remained focused on the robbery motive. "I wanted money anyhow," the accused told investigators, according to sources.
Police officers also questioned him on the moral aspect of the crime, given that he had worked for the family for nearly eight months. In response, he allegedly said, "Wo log to mere liye bhagwan the. Bahut ache the dono. Lekin mujhe paisa chahiye tha (They were like gods to me. Both were very good. But I wanted money)."
The accused is also said to have told investigators that he knew he would eventually be caught, but still went ahead because he wanted the money to reach his family.
However, police are not fully convinced by his version. Investigators suspect Meena may have come with the intention to sexually assault the victim, especially because he is also accused of raping another woman in Alwar just hours before the Delhi crime.
Police Eye Psycho-Analysis As Autopsy Confirms Strangulation
Police sources said Rahul Meena has shown little sign of remorse during interrogation and has repeatedly changed his version of events. Investigators described his demeanour as unusually calm and composed throughout the probe so far.
That behaviour has now prompted Delhi Police to consider a psycho-analysis of the accused. According to sources, the exercise is likely to assess his mental state, behavioural patterns, aggression levels, emotional responses, and possible motives. Investigators are also expected to examine traits associated with conditions such as Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD).
Meanwhile, the post-mortem conducted at AIIMS Delhi has confirmed that the 22-year-old died due to strangulation.
The autopsy found multiple injuries across her body, including bruises on the arms, hands, legs and face, along with a fracture of the nasal bone. Doctors also recorded bleeding in the neck muscles and fractures in parts of the thyroid cartilage, findings that point to asphyxia caused by strangulation. All internal organs were found to be congested.
Several forensic samples, including viscera, nail scrapings, blood samples, and swabs, have been preserved for further testing to confirm sexual assault and strengthen the evidentiary chain in the case.
