After corrpution charges emerge, AAP ditches Shahdara candidate

AAP drops Shadara candidate for election
New Delhi, Oct 18: After reports of corruption surfaced against Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) candidate Surendra Sharma, the party decided to remove him from the party membership.

According to AAP's press release, Sharma was removed after his doubtful creditials were made public. "The action is in line with the commitment of AAP to ensure that no person with doubtful credentials shall represent the party in the upcoming election," the press release stated.

Sharma was selected as the candidate to represent AAP from the Shahdara Assembly constituency. However, in his application he had not disclosed that there were criminal cases pending against him.

The AAP said that they got to know of many property disputes too that are going against him.

Sharma was also appointed as the Chairperson of the election committee for the Shahdara Bar Association Election. However these elections were cancelled as there were allegations of use of violence and unfair means during these elections.

AAP has been campaigning for the upcoming assembly elections in the capital and thier main premise for the polls are a corruption free government.
