on Monday, Nov 18 took Manoj into their custody and revealed some shocking information.

According to sources, Manoj had given marriage proposal to one of the victims -- 18-year-old Parvati. The girl, however, refused to accept Manoj's proposal as he was already married by then.

Trying to take a revenge on Parvati, Manoj threw acid on Parvati's face. Angered, Manoj, in a bid to scar her with acid also injured her friend -- 16-year-old Gayatri.

The two victims were attacked when they were on their way to the market in Begumpur Area of West Delhi. While, Parvati received 50 percent burn injuries, Gayatri had 20 percent burns.

Both Parvati and Gayatri were rushed to nearby hospital. The girls initially were admitted to Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital and later were referred to Lok Nayak Janprakash Hospital. A hospital sources was quoted as saying, "Two girls were admitted with 50 per cent and 18 per cent burns. After initial treatement they were referred to LNJP hospital as we don't have a burns department here."
