AAP likely to release 1st list of LS poll candidates today

New Delhi, Feb 12: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is expected to release its first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha election on Wednesday. Sources said the list, which has got delayed by far, will feature around 20 names and the party may filed candidates against Congress heavyweights like Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Salman Khurshid and Milind Deora.

Former banker Meera Sanyal who recently joined the party, senior party leaders Mayank Gandhi and Kumar Vishwas could also feature in the first list. Sanyal is likely to contest against Deora while Kumar and Mayank Gandhi may take on Rahul Gandhi and former minister of state for home affairs Gurudas Kamat, respectively.

All eyes will be on the party to know who it fields against Sonia Gandhi

The party, which brought allegations against Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani along with two Union ministers, may again hog the limelight on Wednesday by announcing its candidate against Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

Sources in the AAP hinted that the person whom the party is planning to field against Sonia Gandhi is a known face in Uttar Pradeah but not across the country. "The person is a recognizable face in UP and the constituency but not well known across the country.

The AAP has reportedly received over 10,000 applications for contesting the Lok Sabha seats.
