AAP's first move against corrupt mins; orders FIR against Dikshit

New Delhi, Feb 6: Looks like the time for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government to crack the whip on corrupt ministers has finally come. The AAP on Thursday forwarded files relating to the corrupt ministers to its anti-corruption unit.

This move of the AAP can spell trouble for former Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit as the party has demanded that an FIR be filed against her in the Commonwealth Games scam.

The anti-corruption unit will be looking into irregularities in the procurement of street lights and the reported inflated bills.

The Delhi government also wrote to the President seeking action against Sheila Dikshit for granting certificates for the unauthorised colonied in Delhi.

The Kejriwal led government was constantly being criticised for not addressing corruption issues in the capital as it had promised earlier during the Delhi assembly elections. AAP said that it had proof against Dikshit and her corrupt government during the CWG.

Since AAP is in government with Congress' support, will this probe actually affect the governance in the state is something that the public needs to keep an eye on.
