AAP-Congress Rift Proves Costly: How BJP Gained in Delhi Elections 2025
The political scenario in Delhi took a dramatic turn on Saturday as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) struggled to maintain its hold in the Assembly elections 2025. According to the latest trends, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in 46 seats, while AAP is ahead in only 24, signaling a major setback for the ruling party.
A significant blow for AAP came as Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal trailed in the New Delhi constituency. Another senior leader, Atishi, also found herself behind in Kalkaji, raising concerns about AAP's ability to retain its strongholds.

One of the key factors behind AAP's struggles could be its decision to contest the elections without its INDIA Bloc ally, Congress. The three-way contest between BJP, AAP, and Congress appears to have worked in favor of the saffron party, with Congress cutting into AAP's vote share.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also took a dig at AAP and Congress, posting on social media, "Aur lado aapas mein!" (Keep fighting among yourselves). Many political analysts believe that the rivalry between AAP and Congress has played a crucial role in BJP's strong showing.
If these trends continue, Delhi might witness a major political shift, potentially reshaping governance in the capital and strengthening BJP's position.
