9 Killed In Massive Fire At Delhi’s Vivek Vihar, Rescue Operation Continues

A tragic fire incident in Vivek Vihar has left at least nine people dead and several others injured. The fire broke out early Sunday morning in a four-storey residential building, causing panic among residents.

Officials said the blaze started in one of the upper floors and quickly spread to other levels, making rescue operations difficult.

Some injured persons were taken to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital for treatment. Officials said most of the injuries were minor, but the situation remains serious.

Police, disaster management teams, and traffic officials also reached the spot to assist in rescue and crowd control.

Identification of Victims Still Underway

Local officials said that identifying the victims is proving difficult due to the condition of the bodies. Authorities may need to conduct DNA tests to confirm identities.

Pankaj Luthra, who visited the site, said several bodies were found on different floors, including the top floor and the back side of the building.

Search operations are still ongoing to ensure no one is trapped inside.

Cause of Fire Not Yet Confirmed

The exact cause of the fire is still unknown. Some people suspect it may have been caused by a short circuit, but officials have not confirmed this.
