7.8 magnitude earthquake hits Pakistan, tremor felt in Delhi, NCR

Major earthquake in Pak, tremor in Delhi
New Delhi, Sept 24: A major earthquake shook Baluchistan in Pakistan on Tuesday, Sept 24. According to TV reports, the quake, measuring 7.8 magnitude on the Richter Scale, jolted the region.

Minor tremor was felt in Delhi and National capital Region (NCR) around 5 pm on Tuesday. The epicentre of the quake was reported to be Baluchistan.

According to US Geological Survey, the massive quake struck at 4:29 pm local time (around 5 pm India time) in Baluchistan province at a depth of 23 kilometres.

The temblor, which had its epicentre 69 km from Awaran in Balochistan province, was felt in Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana and other cities of Sindh province in Pakistan.

The earthquake lasted for about a minute, reported Geo TV in Pakistan. Despite the heavy magnitude, there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage to property.
