26/11 was a curtain raiser says NSG as ISIS, Al-Qaeda plan terror attacks

NSG: Al-Qaeda, ISIS may carry attacks
New Delhi, Oct 16: National Security Guard (NSG) chief Jayant Choudhry on Thursday said that the Al-Qaeda and ISIS are likely to join forces and plan terror attacks across India.

Speaking at a press conference here, Choudhry cautioned everyone and said that the ‘Al Qaeda may launch multi-city terror attack.' "Terrorism has become more grim, what happened in Mumbai on 26/11 was a curtain raiser," he said.

He added that a terror recce has been conducted in tourist hubs like Goa. "If they do have combined operations, we have to prepare for multi-city, multiple terror attacks," he said, adding that tourist hubs like Goa, Bangalore and Amritsar are on the terror radar.

Choudhry said that NSG is fully prepared and will respond to whatever is required, whenever its required. This comes days after intelligence agencies warned of a possible Al-Qaeda attack in India during the festive season.

Reports suggest that Al Qaeda has joined forces with banned organisation SIMI to execute its nefarious plan in India. Some reports show that the ISIS may be trying to establish a group in India after its flags were spotted in Kashmir and parts of Tamil Nadu.
