Mysore, Dec 2: Seven wild elephants strayed into the forest of Chitravana Resorts near Mysore early on Monday morning. Officials at the resorts said that the animals had entered the resort area around 6 am. They suspected that the elephants might have come from Heggadadevana Kote side.

Elephant raids in and around Mysore are not new.

In June 2011, one person was killed after a wild elephant went on the rampage in Mysore city.
Last year in October, a farmer was attacked and killed by an elephant in H D Kote taluk in Mysore while he was on his way to the field.
