Mysuru Lodge Murder Case: 22-Year-Old Man Detained For Allegedly Planting Explosives in Partner’s Mouth
A 22-year-old man named Siddaraju has been detained in Mysuru, Karnataka, for allegedly murdering Rakshita, a 20-year-old woman. The crime involved placing an explosive device in her mouth at a lodge. Reports suggest that Siddaraju had meticulously planned this act weeks before it occurred.
Rakshita, also known as Darshitha, hailed from Hunsur, Karnataka. She was married to AP Subash, a bus driver based in Dubai, and they shared a two-year-old daughter. Despite her marriage of ten years, Rakshita maintained a seven-year relationship with Siddaraju, who worked as a hardware shop salesman and was her distant relative.

Investigation Unveils Key Details
On August 23, the pair checked into a lodge in Bherya village of Saligrama taluk. Shortly after their arrival, Siddaraju hurried to the lobby claiming Rakshita needed medical attention due to an injury. However, when staff entered the room, they discovered her in a pool of blood.
Siddaraju initially attempted to deceive authorities by suggesting that Rakshita's phone exploded while charging. However, he later confessed to using explosives. A senior officer revealed that Siddaraju had knowledge of quarry explosives and crafted a crude device using an old charger nearly a month before the incident.
Financial Disputes and Relationship Strains
The relationship between Rakshita and Siddaraju reportedly deteriorated over the past five years. Police suspect financial disputes contributed to this strain. Rakshita had lent ₹80,000 to Siddaraju and was urging him to repay it. Additionally, she intended to relocate to Dubai with her husband.
The case took another turn when Darshitha's mother-in-law reported missing valuables from their Kannur home on August 22. She noted that 30 sovereigns of gold and ₹4–5 lakh cash were gone. Darshitha had left for her maternal home near Hunsur earlier that day.
Family Unaware of Secret Relationship
Upon returning from work on August 22, Darshitha's mother-in-law found their house unlocked and empty. Calls to Rakshita went unanswered until a male voice briefly answered before disconnecting. Later investigations revealed she was safe at her parents' home.
Relatives informed police they were unaware of Rakshita's relationship with Siddaraju but noted her frequent visits home recently. The Irikkur police began tracing the missing gold but learned about Darshitha's murder and Siddaraju's arrest soon after.
Karnataka Police have not recovered any valuables from either the lodge or Rakshita's parents' residence where she left her daughter behind.
