Who Was Mauris Noronha, Who Killed Himself Before Shooting Uddhav Sena Leader?
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Abhishek Ghosalkar was shot dead during a Facebook live by local social activist Mauris Noronha in Mumbai on Thursday, police said.
Noronha also ended his life by shooting himself, police said. Ghosalkar, a former corporator, succumbed to bullet injuries at a hospital in north Mumbai, police said.

The incident was captured on Facebook Live. As per the video, Ghosalkar was shot in the abdomen and shoulder as he was live on Facebook with Noronha. Also, the sounds of three other shots being fired are also heard in the clip.
They both had personal enmity and they had come live to announce that they had sorted out the difference for the betterment of the IC Colony area in Borivli.
Abhishek was the son of Vinod Ghosalkar, a senior leader of the Uddhav Thackeray-led party.
The attack took place in the office of Noronha, known as Mauris Bhai. They had patched up recently and Abhishek was reportedly invited to Noronha's office for an event where the latter allegedly shot Ghosalkar before shooting himself. The entire incident was live-streamed on Facebook.
Who was Mauris Noronha?
Going by his social media profile, Mauris Noronha, known as Mauris bhai in Borivali, is a social worker, a Covid warrior, and a philanthropist.
On Facebook Live, Mauris Noronha announced his plans to organize a trip to the Infant Jesus shrine in Nashik on February 10 for the local community. Another post reveals that he had plans to contest the BMC elections. Noronha's Facebook profile photo reads: "Mauris bhai will be contesting the upcoming BMC elections from ward no. 1."
As per a report in Hindustan Times, he had faced the allegations of rape, cheating and threatening a 48-year-old man. There was a lookout notice on him and he was also arrested in connection with the case.
A photo of him receiving an award from Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis, went viral.
