Watch | Viral Video: Traffic Constable Slapped And Assaulted By Rickshaw Drivers In Ulhasnagar | Watch

In Ulhasnagar, a heated dispute between autorickshaw drivers and a traffic constable spiralled into violence, highlighting the escalating tensions over road management and public safety. The trouble began when the constable responded to complaints that rickshaw drivers were harassing a woman and blocking the road with their vehicles. As the police initiated legal action against two of the drivers, a counter-complaint was requested by the drivers against the constable.

A video of the confrontation, which has quickly gone viral, reveals the constable confronting a rickshaw driver over traffic violations. The argument intensified when the driver allegedly used abusive language.

Reports indicate that the situation took a turn for the worse when the constable slapped the driver. In response, the driver threw water at the constable, and another rickshaw driver joined the fray. Both drivers reportedly assaulted the constable, and a traffic warden who tried to step in was also attacked.

The video shows the chaos, with other rickshaw drivers attempting to defuse the situation, though the two main drivers remained defiant. A senior officer from the Central police station confirmed that an FIR is being prepared in connection with the incident.

Meanwhile, as the Ganesh Chaturthi festival approaches, Mumbai's civic body has issued a warning to the public. The 10-day festival, which starts on Saturday, involves the immersion of large Ganesh idols in the Arabian Sea. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has cautioned festival-goers to be aware of potential marine hazards.

A recent report highlighted the presence of dangerous marine creatures, including stingrays and jellyfish, in the waters where the immersions will take place. The Maharashtra Fisheries Department's trial netting off Girgaon and Dadar beaches revealed various species, including Dhomi, Kolambi, Shingti, Blue Jellyfish, Ghoda Masa, and Chhote Ravas, alongside the more hazardous jellyfish and stingrays.
