Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Police Pankaj Shirsat explained that the biker had been fined earlier for riding without a helmet. When the officers later returned to the same area, he stopped them and recorded the video out of anger.

Addressing the viral allegations, Shirsat said the police scooter's rear number plate was intact, but the front one had been "improperly attached." He added that the officers were fined ₹2,000 for issues including missing mirrors and the absence of a 'Police Patil' sign - violations that were corrected the next day.

The official also cautioned against roadside confrontations. "Stopping vehicles or filming arguments in traffic is extremely unsafe," he said. "Anyone who wishes to report misconduct can use our official app or complaint system."
